Today’s Tip:  Be sure to capture the brand names, store names, etc. for your family history!

The other day I noticed a catalog that contained a number of items of ‘historic interest’.  Unfortunately for me, I had used most of these items!

Some were candy and food:  Chuckles, Beaman’s Gum, Bosco Chocolate drink and a few others.  One was a shampoo I recall the advertisements for – Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific.

I also got to thinking that many name brands have come and gone too.  Western Auto, Woolworth’s,Ben Franklin, and many are on the way out … Sears, Kodak, etc.

So be sure to capture those names for your family history.  They may be ‘everyday’ today, but they may be gone tomorrow!

After all, how many of us type on a Smith-Corona Typewriter anymore or use a Wang word processor?
