Today’s Tip: Don’t forget to record what is hot, or cold for that matter, as in what folks like to drink!
When I was growing up, my folks loved to host family gatherings at our home! We were the family hub. I recall with easy dozens on dozens of huge family gatherings at our home. Summer, winter, autumn or spring, made no difference! Family was always welcome and invited. Heck, my folks did an annual theme party. They held it three times on one weekend, Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday during the day. The Friday edition was neighbors. The Saturday edition was for friends, business associates, etc. Sunday was just for the extended family! I vividly recall that my dad would spend considerable time gathering the proper libations for those occasions.
Seems certain of my Bohemian ancestors would only drink certain styles or brands of beer. POC comes to mind … Pride of Cleveland we called it! Sometimes it was Pleasure on Call. But always had to be a good Bohemian-style Pilsner.
Then there was the large group of Aunts who would only drink a cocktail by the name of a Bermuda Rose. Not exactly a drink you run across everyday these days!
Plus my old man had a private Bloody Mary recipe that was killer!
So as part of your efforts, be sure to capture the drinks of the day!
As sure as you can hardly find Grape Nehi any more, they will change!
