Saving and organizing my family trees, photos, and documents has always been a challenge for me. I am sure it is for some of you as well.

Sometimes it seems overwhelming to me! So much information, photos, documents, letters, etc. BUT to me every shred of it is SO valuable and precious! SO I know I MUST get it organized and saved.

But how?

My Tip For Today: Take advantage of the FREE help available from the National Digital Information & Infrastructure Program. This is a program of the Library of Congress so there are some excellent experts behind these efforts! Especially focus on the portion directed at Personal Archiving!

Check out the website http://www.digitalpreservation.gov/you.

I love their little 8 page pdf brochure ‘Preserving Your Digital Memories’. Practical, short, and to the point! Plus it covers Photos, Audio, Video, Email, Digital Records and Websites.

BUT my favorite piece is the one page poster. Five easy steps to preserving your digital memories. I keep one posted in my office so I don’t forget to keep at my efforts to organize my personal archive of genealogy.

I encourage you to check it out.

Have a great day as we go

Mike, I'd be happy to try and help. Why don't you email me directly at OnwardToOurPast@gmail.com. It might be easier than via the blog.
