Good day all!
Today’s tip comes from an experience I just had, but one I keep forgetting!
Today’s Tip: Don’t forget to investigate those hotlinks embedded in genealogy websites! They can be real winners and hold some wonderful information.
Just yesterday I was runnig through the website for the parish of St. Teath (a very nice site, I might add), where my Phillipps clan lived in the 1500-1700’s . I was looking for something specific and skipped a hotlink to a pdf file, which was listed as a document from another source that they simply linked up. I did not recognize the source, etc.
Well, on my second reading I finally paid attention and hit the link! There was a wonderful transcription of a significant number of the gravestones in St. Teath graveyard and church. PLUS sure enough, there were three there for Phillipps — one I know is my kin, William!
So, don’t be stupid like me! Hit those hotlinks and see what little treasures there might be! They just might be substantial as in my case with St. Teath!
Have a great day,
Onward To Our Past!
